Cameron Highlands Part 2

Hello, back to continue part 2 of our mini getaway! So after the rain slowed to a drizzle, we decided to make our way to Brinchang for an early dinner.

Night Eats 02

We asked the cab driver for the best steamboat restaurant and he recommended O.K. Tuck restaurant. It was about 20 minutes walk from Big Red Strawberry Farm. It’s not too far considering the weather was cooling and we took it as an evening stroll. 🙂

O.K. Tuck Restaurant
26, Jalan Besar, Brinchang, 39100 Cameron Highlands
Tel: 05-491 2380

Now, having tried Restoran Kwan Kee (2 years ago) and O.K. Tuck (this time), I personally prefer Restoran Kwan Kee. The ingredients are much fresher and the soup base is nicer! 🙂

We went to the night market after dinner and realized that we should’ve kept steamboat dinner for the next day, and have night market dinner instead! Oh well.

TIP #6: night market is open on Fridays and Saturdays only.

Night Eats 03

We bought lots of fried nibbles and went to Brinchang Hotel to wait for our “shuttle bus” to Copthorne Hotel. We were looking forward to going back to the hotel since it started raining again and we were shivering in the cold. Unfortunately there seemed to be some confusion. The hotel staff was not aware of the “shuttle bus” timing and there was no one familiar from Titiwangsa around. They only told us to wait. And so we did.

We waited from 7.30pm to 8pm and there was no bus in sight. We figured the bus would not be here anytime soon. So we ventured out into the rain again. Both of us sharing a tiny umbrella and fighting the chilly weather. It was super crazy! The roads were flooded so we were splashing in the rain water, squeezing with the crowd and trying to buy more food!

Night Eats 04(Isn’t this patterned paper perfect since I’m documenting a rainy day?!)

TIP 7: if the guys at Titiwangsa promised a RM3 shuttle bus back to your hotel, please check with them on the arrangement to make sure someone is there to pick you up! Note that it is not a scheduled shuttle bus service!

The drivers finally came at close to 9pm because there was an arrangement to pick another 5 people back to Copthorne. So the 7 of us went on a van while the driver brought us up.

We had an early night because we need to get up early for the sunrise tour the next day! Will blog about that in my next update! 🙂
